Whoa! It’s already September! That means we’re getting into the best months of the year. Before you know it, we’ll all be wearing sweaters, kicking up leaves, singing Christmas songs. I seriously cannot wait for all the celebrations. But, in the meantime, here are a few things I was celebrating last month!
Aveeno Clear Complextion
I tend to stay away from any and all cleansers, exfoliaters, or anything else that will strip my skin because it’s extremely sensitive. I was out of makeup remover and borrowed this from my mom one night because I wanted something that wouldn’t leave any trace of makeup behind. I was nervous after I put it on and it had a cooling effect on my face because typically products with that reaction dry my skin out unbelieveably. However, I didn’t have any sort of bad reaction to it, and I noticed it left my skin so soft. I continued to use it and began noticing that it was clearing up the blemishes I had and preventing new ones from forming!
If I had any sort of green thumb, my space would be overflowing with foliage. Unfortunately, I was not blessed with that quality. However, my love for succulents has grown this month because there’s no green thumb required! They give such life to a room without taking up a lot of space or time. I just plant them on top of some rocks and water maybe 2 or 3 times a month, and they’re still alive!
I mentioned here that we got a puppy this month, so of course I had to include him in my favorites! We officially named him Champ, and he never ceases to be entertaining. He’s gotten a little taller since we brought him home and definitely has become less timid. He loves to swim in our pond and his little bark is just too cute!
So in my Making Some Changes post, I mentioned how I wanted to start making commitments to purchasing big ticket items and actually begin furnishing my apartment. And I did it! I am now the proud owner of this beautiful little desk. I just happen to stroll into Office Depot for some school supplies last week, and this desk caught my eye. I immediately fell in love. I still have a lot of decorating to do before I’m completely satisfied, but it’s so nice to finally have a little space designated for working.
Tinder flame candle
Whether I’m on my computer, cleaning house, or just lounging around, I will typically always have candles burning. Yes candles. As in probably 3 at a time. So, candles are in no way new to me, but this one definitely stands out. I purchased this from Ross at the beginning of the month. Honestly, I only picked it up because of the pretty packaging. Then I smelled it and it was one of those most unique candles I’ve ever smelled. I’m not even going to try to describe it because really how do you successfully describe a smell? So just go by the scent of “fresh melon and cilantro”. I will admit, the scent is an acquired one so it’s probably not for everyone. But if you like fruity smells and spice(but not in the cinnamon kind of way), I totally recommend it. It has a wooden wick so it’s prettier than a single thin wick like most candles and it makes the lovliest crackling noise as it burns!
To go along with my new workspace, I decided to feed my stationary addiction with this cute little planner. With school starting and taking multiple online classes, I needed somewhere to keeping my assignments in one spot where everything is at a glance. It’s a bit difficult to find a planner mid-year, but I was lucky to see that this one started in July and had tons of room to write for each day. Plus, it’s so cute and small enough to carry in my purse!
