No matter what store you go to nowadays, it seems as if everyone is trying to come out with their own makeup line. With there already being so many products available, it’s difficult to know what is actually worth the money and what isn’t worth taking out of the store. Many companies, like Birchbox and Ipsy, have taken note of this and created a monthly subscription service to sample products without the hassle of buying full-priced items or going through the trouble of buying them in store. So, if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I received my first Ipsy bag in the mail! It comes with 5 different products each month, some even full size for only $10, plus it always comes inside a cute makeup bag. I’ve decided to review the products I received last month, and would love to hear products anyone else received!
Meet Matt(e) Hughes Liquid Lipstick
Okay, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one, there’s no other way to say it. I’m a huge liquid lipstick fan and this color and formula is amazing. It’s a great everyday peachy nude and lasts forever.
Xpress Line Cosmetic Pencil
I don’t really wear any eye makeup, so I knew I wouldn’t have any use for this, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I found it to be quite hard and stiff and too powder like. It felt more like a black color pencil than an eyeliner. The staying power wasn’t bad though.
Pure Vanilla Deluxe Mini Roller Ball
I’ve never tried anything from LaVanilla before, but I’ve heard rave reviews about their deodorant, so I was excited to try out the brand. Honestly, the first time I smelled this perfume I wasn’t too excited about it though, but it began to grow on me. It’s basically pure vanilla, and I don’t mean like fake vanilla candle smell, I mean real vanilla. It’s like an old lady scent. But in a good way. It’s the perfect little size to throw in my purse and the lid closes really well so I don’t feel as if it’s going to leak everywhere.
Dose Color Pill Nail Polish
Let me just say I love this color. It’s a great color for fall, but not such a cliche fall color that it can’t be worn year round. It’s a deep purple with a tint of blue. The packaging really kills this product though. The bottom is rounded, so how am I supposed to paint my nails if can’t set the bottle down because it will fall over and spill everywhere? Unfortunately, again, this color is only available through Ipsy. All in all, I didn’t find that it was any different than any other nail polish I own, so I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to purchase it.
Balanced Guru Body Scrub
I honestly haven’t even tried this one yet, and I probably won’t. My skin is so sensitive and scrubs never fail to irritate it, so I’ll probably be passing this on to a friend. It smells really good though! It’s like mint chocolate chip meets coffee, but not in a sickening way.
