A Little About Me
font enthusiast + Diet Coke addict + thrift store connoisseur
When I'm not designing websites or building brands, you can find me browsing my local Goodwill for vintage finds or rearranging the furniture in my apartment just because I can. I love anything floral, and I'm both a total movie and history buff. If you're around me for more than 5 minutes, I will most likely mention how absolutely adorable my 3 pups and 4 ducks are. If I'm listening to music, chances are, it's 90's alternative rock.
As a truly Southern girl, my perfect Sunday includes attending church, eating crawfish, swimming in the pond with my family (and the dogs and the ducks), and the Summertime sun. I'm constantly planning my next DIY project, and I'm always up for a good murder mystery — book or movie. Oh, and I'm never without a Diet Coke in hand.
Graphic Designer + Web Developer
Born and raised in Southern Louisiana, I'm just a southern girl with a love for design, all things tech-related, and passionate, driven people.
Designing has always been close to my heart for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always the little girl playing "restaurant" just so I could design a menu or starting up a new business every week in my parents' livingroom just for the sake of creating a name and a logo. I fell head over heels in love with web design back in middle school when I started teaching myself code to build my very first website because I wasn't allowed to have a MySpace page like all of my friends.
I've since created brands, launched websites, and managed social media accounts for multiple local businesses in my community. As a college graduate with a degree in Marketing and E-commerce, I'm combining my passion for design and small business with what I've learned about creating a strong presence online and helping businesses create happy, loyal customers.
Why "Rose and Pixel"?
I believe every brand should reflect the person behind the business and the mission for why it was started. From flowers to butterflies to the open country, I love the outdoors, and being close to nature is a big part of my life. To me, roses are that special part of nature that hold many forms from being bold, fierce, and unbreakable to being endearing, passionate, and elegant. And I believe small businesses hold those exact same possibilities.
Additionally, every website, every design, and every graphic you see online is made of pixels. A single pixel on its own doesn’t do much, but the art of combining thousands of pixels in a strategic manner can create something truly magnificent. Just like with creating a brand, it’s so much more than just a logo. A strong, cohesive brand comes from a multitude of moving parts and the art of making them work seamlessly together.
Lastly — my favorite part — the initials of Rose And Pixel (RAP) are my initials! Both my first and last name are misspelled quite often, and I knew I wanted a connection to me without using my actual name, so I use my initials instead!
