Over the years, I’ve had many a bad haircuts attempting to achieve hairstyles that looked good on other people from an edgy overly sideswept part to straight across bangs (yikes). I was always so jealous of the girls at school that could get pin straight hair or have naturally perfect waves when I was stuck with my very thick, very wavy, and very poofy hair. I’ve accepted the fact that my hair will never look exactly how it does on someone else, and I’ve discovered some really awesome products that work well with my hair type, so I wanted to share them today. Whether you’re wanting to lock in your curls or add silky shine to your hair, I hope one of these can work for you too!

One n’ Only Argan Oil Spray Treatment

I think this is at least my third bottle of this spray because it’s just that good. It’s super lightweight and great for helping with frizz and tangles. I always spray this after I’ve gone to the beach or swimming all day because it really helps to hydrate and tame those knots after any chlorine or saltwater. Oh, and it smells like summery heaven, which never gets old.

L’Oreal Sleek It Iron Straight Heatspray

I have a lot of natural wave and frizz in my hair, and it just doesn’t ever straighten the way I want it to. Sometimes I’ll have good hair days, but my hair will never stay straight on its own. My mom actually discovered this spray and kept bragging on it, so I just had to try it, and now I swear by it. It’s perfect for when I know I’m going to straighten my hair. It keeps it straight and shiny and helps so much with frizz. It even helps my hair straighten quicker, which keeps me from continuously running the flat iron over and over again on the same strand of hair, damaging it more. Not to mention, it’s always a plus to have extra heat protectant.

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave-In Conditioning Cream

If you’re trying to curl your hair, you need this. It helps hold curls without weighing down your hair or making it greasy. Just apply about the size of a quarter to damp hair and massage it in a couple inches down from the roots. You can either blow dry right after, but I normally just let it air dry overnight. When I curl my hair the next day, this always makes my curls bouncy and helps to keep their shape, but doesn’t give any soft of crunchy hair texture. Plus, this conditioner helps to keep my hair healthy, feeling soft, and adds a nice shine.
